To recognise and give visibility to notable research at ENLIGHT universities that are exemplars in planning for and achieving impact, the ENLIGHT network calls for application to Impact Awards. In 2023, the award went to the University of Tartu’s Risk and Resilience Research Group led by Associate Professor of Sociology of Sustainability Kati Orru.
A maximum of six ENLIGHT Impact Awards will be given, one in each of the six flagship domains: health and well-being, digital revolution and digitization, climate change, energy and circular economy, equity, culture and creativity.
Each ENLIGHT university is asked to submit up to three applications to be considered for the award. The pre-selection will be made at each university internally. The teams can comprise researchers of all levels and research support staff, whose joint team effort demonstrates embedded impact in their research pathway and contributes to bringing about change in one (or more) of the six ENLIGHT flagship domains. The team should involve at least three researchers and the launch or publication of their research should remain in the last five-year period (January 2020–December 2024).
The date of application in the University of Tartu is 20 January 2025. To apply, fill in the application form and send it to enlight@ut.ee. The elected applicants will be notified by 31 January.
The ENLIGHT Impact Awards will be presented during the ENLIGHT Impact Conference at the University of Groningen on 27 and 28 March 2025. The representatives of the awarded teams will be identified as ENLIGHT Impact Ambassadors and become members of the ENLIGHT Impact Ambassadors Network. The ambassadors will be provided with financial support to attend relevant international workshops and conferences, to have the possibility to introduce their work internationally, and cooperate with experts both from ENLIGHT and its partners.
